Overview
This article provides a step-by-step overview of how to set up an integration between CANCOM BMECat and the ONEiO platform. The integration enables automated transfer of Service Catalog articles from CANCOM to ONEiO.
Prerequisites
The CANCOM BMECat integration with ONEiO is available only to parties integrating with CANCOM.
1. Request an SFTP Server Instance
To enable the integration, you must first request an SFTP server instance from ONEiO.
How to order:
Send an email with the subject line or body containing “CANCOM BMECat SFTP server” to support@oneio.cloud.
2. Get Article synchronization enabled in CANCOM
For the end-to-end integration to function correctly, article synchronization must be enabled on the CANCOM side. Please contact your CANCOM representative to ensure this feature is active.
3. Authentication from CANCOM to ONEiO
The SFTP server uses client certificate-based authentication.
- ONEiO will provide the necessary certificate and configuration details during the SFTP server provisioning.
- This authentication must be set up on the CANCOM side.
Setting up the CANCOM BMECat Endpoint in ONEiO
You can easily set up the endpoint yourself directly in your ONEiO subscription. There’s no need to coordinate with a CANCOM representative.
1. Create a New Endpoint
- Navigate to the Endpoints section in your ONEiO subscription.
- Click on + New endpoint (top right).
- Select CANCOM BMECat from the list.
- Click Create.
2. Fill in the General Information
In the General Info tab, complete the following fields:
- Name: A meaningful identifier for the endpoint (e.g. CANCOM BMECat).
- Username: As provided by ONEiO.
- Client Certificate: Upload the client certificate received from ONEiO.
- File Pattern: Define the file pattern that matches the incoming catalog files. There can be only a single file pattern. If you need to transfer articles according to another file pattern then create another endpoint for it; the second endpoint can connect to the same SFTP server instance.
- Path to XML Entity: The internal XML path to the relevant entity.
- ID Element reference: The unique ID reference within the XML.
Example:
Note: The timezone is automatically set to Germany and cannot be changed.
3. Define Entity-Specific Configuration
- Switch to the Entities tab.
- Input the ID Element reference again to complete the setup.
Example:
4. Finalize and Create
Click Create to complete the configuration.
That’s it! Your CANCOM BMECat endpoint is now ready to receive catalog articles from CANCOM.
